Medir FPS???? e facil (em ingles)Most people are already aware of the Coke Can Chrono but I figured I’d post it up here incase anyone wants to use it.
Using the Coke Can Chrono
To properly use the chronograph, you must first obtain an empty Coca-Cola can, and a copy of the Velocity chart.
The Coke can has be in perfect condition, free from dents, dings, wrinkles, punctures, or creases in the metal, for this to work. You also have to use .2 BBs only. You can’t use other weight BBs because this test is only based on .2. If you use .25 BBs your results will be incorrect.
Align the muzzle of your gun 1-2 inches from the surface of the can. The area you aim your Airsoft AEG or pistol at will depend on what velocity you believe your gun to be shooting. For example it you think you’re about at 300 fps, aim the barrel at the side of the can. If you think your gun is shooting about 400 fps, aim at the bottom center of the can.
Place the can on a level surface. If you are shooting at either the top or bottom of the can, lay it on its side. Lastly, do not hold the can, as this can distort your results. Now fire your Airsoft weapon. The different results with the approximate velocities are listed below.
There are six area of a Coke can that will deliver different fps results.
One Side…………….290+FPS
Both Sides…………..340+FPS
Bottom Center………385+FPS*
Bottom Edge………...450+FPS
Top Center…………..470+FPS
Top Edge……………500+FPS
* This area is under some debate depending on which site’s results you see listed. Some sites such as RedWolf put this area at 430 fps.
Why Coke cans?
Basically because all cans are manufactured so perfectly and exactly you can be assured similar results from any unblemished can.
